When Edvin Johansson was fishing in Småland, he realized that a suspending lure with a slightly downward-angled pause position could be the key to better hook-ups. The fish’s attack angle then often comes from slightly below, which increases the chance that the hooks get a solid hold. What started as an instinct quickly became a vision. Over several months, Edvin carved, tested, and refined multiple prototypes until the vision finally became what you are now holding in your hand.

What does Twerkbait mean?

Twerkbait is a name created by combining the words twitchbait and jerkbait – two international names for the same type of lure that we in Sweden most often call a wobbler.

When we combined the words, the name Twerkbait was formed, which we felt was a perfect fit. The word twerk is also the name of a dance where you wiggle your hips and buttocks – much like a well-fished Twerkbait moves through the water.

In short: Twerkbait is a playful name that describes both the lure’s origin and its lively, wiggling action in the water.

Twerkbait is developed for fishing for perch, pike, and zander, but it also catches seabass (Seabass) and most predatory fish that are normally targeted with this type of lure.

Casting system

With its long, slender 11 cm shape, Twerkbait is an easy-to-fish lure that casts both far and accurately. Thanks to the built-in magnetic casting system, a weight moves toward the rear of the lure during the cast, allowing it to fly stably through the air without fluttering.

When the lure lands in the water, the weight moves back to its original position, providing the correct balance and action in the water. The result is longer casts, better precision, and the ability to cover larger areas than many wobblers without a magnetic weight transfer system.

Suspend time

Twerkbait works year-round and is developed to provide a long and stable suspend time in the water. During the pause, the lure remains in the strike zone longer than many traditional wobblers, giving predatory fish extra time to make up their minds and attack.

The suspending action makes Twerkbait particularly effective when the fishing is slow or when you want to fish methodically over shallow areas with heavy vegetation on the bottom. The lure also works excellently for trolling.
